Harish Nim was featured in the Entrepreneur section of the August issue of “India Se”. The section covered last year’s winners of SICCI-DBS Singapore Indian Entrepreneur Awards.
Having won in the Large Enterprise category, Harish talked about how he took the plunge to try for these awards to put Emerio in the limelight. He realised that even being shortlisted for these prestigious awards was an honour in itself. His win came as a big surprise to him, as according to him, the shortlisted candidates for last year were all winners in their chosen fields.
These awards have been a great learning process for him and Harish recommended that everyone must try for them. According to him, the risk of applying for these awards is minor compared with the risk the entrepreneurs take in starting a new business from scratch.
He also talked about the recent deal he conducted to sell Emerio’s majority stake to a $200 billion group. The compelling reason behind this decision was to provide an opportunity for his company and the people within to grow. Finding the business stagnating at 35% CAGR, he decided that this development would help to scale the business rapidly and help him reach his goal of a billion dollars in revenue within 6 years.
